What powers the #2 ARCDU?  What if that fails?
  • The #2 ARCDU is powered by the Left Main Bus.
  • If that fails the Right Essential Bus will power the #2 ARCDU.
What powers the #1 ARCDU?  What if that fails?
  • The #1 ARCDU is powered by the Right Main Bus.
  • If that fails the Left Essential Bus will power the #1 ARCDU.
ARCDU/FMS transfer switch

1.  Explain OFF/ON/BOTH
2.  Explain FMS
1.  OFF - The ARCDU is not powered the onside FMS controls and tunes the radios as a backup.
2.  ON - The ARCDU controls and tunes the onside system only
3.  Both - The ARCDU controls and tunes both it's onside and offside radio systems i.e. cross side tuning.
4.  FMS - The FMS automaticaly controls and tunes it's onside and opposite navigation recievers.
What does the EMER key on the ARCDU do?
1.  Same function as CALL
2.  EMER lights flash in the flight deck and on FA keyboard (forward) and handset (aft).
3.  Red flashing annunciator on cabin advisory light panel.
4.  Chine in both cockpit and cabin.
How long does the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) record?
The CVR records the last two hours of all flight crew communications, the flight deck area microphone, PA announcements, and clock data.

Located in the tail section.
The Flight Data Recorder records how much of the past?  Where is it located?
  • 26 hours
  • Located in the tail.
When is the standy VHF radio used?
  • Serves as a backup for the #1 VHF NAV.
  • Used wen dual ARCDU screen failure occurs.
