The lavatory smoke detection is only indicated where?
The lavatory smoke detection is indicated in the cabin on the flight attendant advisory light panel.  There is no flightdeck indication.
An engine fire is indicated by what five warning lights?
1.  PULL FUEL/HYD OFF T-Handle
2.  MASTER WARNING light
3.  CHECK FIRE DET
4. (2) ENGINE FIRE PRESS TO RESET
What does the single amber BTL LOW advisory light mean?
Either the fire bottle is low or depleted.
When doing the engine fire test, what seven lights will illuminate for each engine?

Describe the forward and aft baggage compartment fire suppresion systems.
The forward and aft baggage compartments each have one high rate fire extinguisher.

There is one, shared, low rate extinguisher that lasts 45 minutes.
A successful test of the forward baggage compartment smoke detectors indicates what lights? (4)
1. MASTER WARNING light
2.  SMOKE warning light
3.  BAGGAGE FWD SMOKE/EXTG switchlight (red/white)
4.  FIRE BOTTLE FWD ARM amber light.
A successful test of the aft baggage comparment smoke detectors indicates what lights? (6)
1.  MASTER WARNING
2.  SMOKE warning light
3.  BAGGAGE AFT SMOKE/EXTG switchlight (red/white)
4.  FIRE BOTTLE AFT ARM amber light.
5.  VENT INLT CLOSED white advisory light
6.  VENT OTLT CLOSED white advisory light
The aft baggage compartment VENT VALVE lights indicate what?
The aft compartment is sealed to keep in the fire extinguisher agent.
How many fire extinguishers are there?
There are four fire extinguishers:
Cockpit (1)
Forward storage closet (1)
Back of aircraft (2)
How many PBEs are there?
There are four PBEs.  Each one must be within three feet of a fire extinguisher.
How long is the crew escape rope and how many knots?
The crew escape rope is three meters in length with eight knots.
How do you turn off the emergency lights once they are tripped on?
The emergency lights are must be placed all the way on, then all the way off.
When do the emergency lights come on automatically when in the ARM position?
The emergency lights will automatically come on when armed due to a loss of power to the Left Main DC Bus.
Can the Flight Attendant turn on the emergency lights?
Yes via the Flight Attendant Control Panel.
How are the emergency lights powered?
The emergency lights are powered by a 6.4 volt NiCad battery.
Where does the emergency lights battery receive its charge from?
The Left Main Bus.
How many fire loops are there in each engine nacelle?
3
How many fire loops are there for the APU?
1
Where are the fire detection loops located in the engine nacelle?
1.  Leading edge zone
2.  Primary engine zone
3.  Main wheel well zone
What sets off the engine fire detection system?
A Pressure increase in the helium filled fire detection loop closes an alarm switch and triggers the five fire warning lights.
What are the five fire warning lights?
1.  PULL FUEL/HYD OFF T-Handle
2.  MASTER WARNING
3.  CHECK FIRE DET
4.  ENGINE FIRE PRESS TO RESET (2)
Other than the warning lights are there other indications of fire in the cockpit?
The aural fire warning tone which is activated with the fire warning lights.
  • "Press to Reset" cancels the tone.
  • Warning lights remain illumenated until the fire is out.
What do the FAULT A and FAULT B lights indicate?
Either a pressure loss (a puncture or leak) or an electrical power failure in a fire loop.
Is it possible to have a FAULT A indication and an engine fire warning concurrently?
Yes.  Sensor loops in the primary and leading edge zones are connected in series.
  • Primary zone loop may fail.  The FAULT light will illuminate, but leading edge zone loop still provieds fire indication.  However, if leading edge zone loop fails the primary zone loop will not function alone.
How many fire bottles are there for the engines?
2
What happens when a T-Handle is pulled?
When the T-Handle is pulled the engine fuel and hydraulic valve closes.  The fire bottles are armed too.
