*Engine Inoperateive Approaches
The following is not authorized with an engine inoperative:
  • Autolands (CAT I, II, or III)
  • The use of an autopilot to fly a non-precision approach using NAV or FINAL APP lateral modes. Only FD is permitted in this case.
Flight Management Function
FMGS lateral and vertical navigation has been certified for after takeoff, enroute, and terminal area operations, for instrument approach procedures (except ILS, LOC, LOC-BC, and LDA) and for missed approach procedures.
RNP Accuracy with GPS PRIMARY
Flight Management Function
Without GPS PRIMARY (GPS deselected or inoperative), the accuracy has been demonstrated provided the appropriate RNP value is checked or entered on the MCDU, and "HIGH ACCUR" is displayed.

The FMGS is also certified for navigation within BRNAV, PRNAV, RNP-4, and RNP-10 airspace. RNP-10 oceanic/remote area operations are approved with or without GPS PRIMARY provided time limitations in IRS only navigation acceptable to operational authorities, are established.
*Maximum field elevation for an autoland is:
  • 9200' (A319)
  • 6500' (A320)
  • 5750' (A321)
Autolands may be accomplished using FLAPS 3 or FLAPS FULL up to the maximum landing weight of the aircraft.

In case of an emergency, an autoland may be performed up to 151,117 lbs. on the A319.

Glide slope angle must be within the range of -2.5° to -3.15°
*Automatic Approach and Landing FMA's
  • Cat IIIB - FMA must display CAT 3 DUAL.
  • Cat IIIA - FMA must display CAT 3 DUAL or CAT 3 SINGLE.
  • CAT II - FMA must display CAT 3 DUAL or CAT 3 SINGLE.
  • CAT I - FMA must display CAT 3 DUAL or CAT 3 SINGLE.
Autolands to CAT I runways are authorized. Refer to AOM VOL 2 (2.142).
*Automatic Approach and Landing Maximum Wind
Maximum wind (including gusts) is based on surface wind reports. During teh approach, the wind display on the ND may be higher than surface reports.

  • Tailwind - 10 knots
  • Crosswind - 15 knots (20 knots when operating in CAT I or better conditions)
  • Headwind - 30 knots
Electrical
  • Max continuous load per generator - 100% (90 kVA)
  • Max continuous load per TR - 200 Amps
Electrical Outlets
Use of aircraft electrical outlets is prohibited during takeoff and landing.
*Flight Controls (Flaps and Slats)
Maximum altitude with the flaps and slats extended is 20,000'.
Fuel Specifications
The fuel system has been certified for Jet A, Jet A1, JP8, JP5, RT, TS-1, Jet B, JP4, and N°3 Jet.
